The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock of Senegal, Dr. Mabouba Diagne, was officially appointed Ambassador of the Platform of African Farmers’ Organizations (PAFO) on the sidelines of the organization’s 7th General Assembly, held in Dakar. The designation documents were formally presented by the newly elected President of PAFO, in the presence of the President of ROPPA, who led PAFO over the past two years and now serves as Vice-President, as well as the President of CNCR.This appointment recognizes Senegal’s sustained commitment and that of its authorities to supporting African farmers’ organizations and promoting strong, sustainable and sovereign family farming across the continent. It is worth recalling that the opening ceremony of PAFO’s 7th General Assembly was presided over by Minister Mabouba Diagne. On that occasion, his address—widely praised by participants—highlighted the firm commitment of the Government of Senegal to accompany and strengthen farmers’ organizations, regarded as key pillars of food sovereignty and agricultural development in Africa
