The International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2025, the world’s largest gathering dedicated to sexual and reproductive health and rights, will be held from November 1 to 6, 2025.Preparatory sessions, including those focused on youth, comprehensive sexuality education, and other cross-cutting themes, are scheduled for November 1 and 2, according to Dina Chaerani, host of Sex O’clock News, the Family Planning News Network (FPNN), and YIELD Hub.The 2025 edition is already breaking records, with 5,174 abstracts submitted—a historic number in the conference’s history. “This reflects an unprecedented wealth of ideas and highlights the importance of identifying the most relevant signals amid the abundance of contributions,” explains Dina Chaerani.Key themes in the scientific and community program include sexual and reproductive health and rights in the context of climate change, supply chains during extreme heat, population displacement, financing, resilience, and the shrinking of civic spaces.Youth leadership occupies a central place in this edition. Many sessions are dedicated to young people, including a youth pre-conference entirely led and designed by young participants from around the world.Additionally, the “SHE & Rights” session will be jointly organized by the Global Centre for Health Diplomacy and Inclusion (CeHDI), ICFP 2025, Y-PEER Asia-Pacific, Y-PEER Laos, the Family Planning News Network (FPNN), the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the Asia-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW), the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), the Asia-Pacific Media Alliance for Health and Development (APCAT Media), and CNS.Babacar Sene, Agropasteur Newspaper, Dakar, Senegal
