This high-level event will bring together more than 30 global leaders, industry pioneers, and international experts to discuss issues of sustainability, innovation, and climate resilience in aquaculture, while encouraging other sectors to follow this path.

A global platform for sustainable innovation, this year’s edition will be held under the theme “Transform, Inspire, Lead”, highlighting the two most influential aquaculture proteins—shrimp and salmon—and fostering an unprecedented cross-sector dialogue. By drawing inspiration from the successes of other industries, the forum aims to chart concrete pathways toward more responsible food production systems.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from Google, former NASA officials, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Global Salmon Initiative (GSI), the Salmon Council of Chile, as well as leading shrimp producers, bankers, and experts in food innovation and corporate sustainability.

“At Race to the Top, we want to show that it is possible to produce food ethically, competitively, and sustainably, without sacrificing principles or quality,” said Pamela Nath, Director of SSP.

For his part, José Antonio Camposano, Executive President of the CNA, emphasized:

“Ecuador has already proven that it is possible to lead the shrimp industry with responsibility and excellence. The challenge now is to do so sustainably in a highly competitive environment. Race to the Top is a space to reflect collectively, act faster, and inspire changes that go beyond the sector.”

A shared vision driven by sustainability and competitiveness will guide the discussions.

The forum will feature a rich and engaging program with 13 sessions, including expert panels, presentations, and case studies. Four key themes will structure the dialogue: governance, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic sustainability.

At its first edition in 2024, Race to the Top gathered over 350 participants and 35 speakers from FAO, WWF, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), IDH, and leading companies in the sector.

This year, the event is supported by strategic partners such as Cargill, Con3xión Consultores, Duragas, Huawei, LarvIA, and Vitapro—all actors committed to innovation and responsible production

The Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP), a pioneer in Ecuador, brings together leading shrimp aquaculture companies committed to producing the highest-quality products while upholding the strictest social and environmental standards.

The National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA), for its part, has represented the Ecuadorian shrimp sector for more than 30 years. Through its AquaExpo program, it promotes knowledge exchange and innovation to serve the industry.
